The weather has brightened up and allowed me to escape to the Hamptons for a weekend. Just an hour or so away from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, this hotspot feels like a completely different world, full of sun, space, and, of course, the best summer parties.

When you pair the relaxing setting of the beach with a hot event from this season’s social calendar, like the recent Love Heals charity event, you have a fabulous concoction. It takes little more than the words “charity” and “party” to garner the attention of the Hamptons’ socialites and other significant New York philanthropists.
This year’s Love Heals event, sponsored by fashion designer Charlotte Ronson, happened at the Polish Hall in Southampton. The charity soiree brings together a blend of celebs and designers each year to benefit the Alison Gertz Foundation for AIDS, which was founded in 1992 to honor the life of New York socialite Alison Gertz. Fifteen years later, the organization has raised 0ver $4.4 million, and continues to educate young people about HIV and AIDS. “I’m so honored to have been part of such an incredible organization for many years now and will continue to help in every and any way possible,” Ronson divulged.

Partygoers opened their pocketbooks and their hearts in honor of the foundation while mingling over Crumbs cupcakes, Nathan’s hotdogs and summer cocktails. An exciting combination of silent auction items raised over $300,000 to support the HIV and AIDS campaign. Lucky bidders walked away with a one-month internship at Diane von Furstenburg and a behind-the-scenes tour of the Gossip Girl set.
