The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS: DIFFA Dallas presented their 2009 collection in the most outrageous, over-the-top fashion event to hit the catwalks of Texas. The Utopia themed 20th Anniversary Gala promised an evening of spectacular runway appearances and acrobatic stage performances during dinner and cocktails at the Hilton Anatole. Honorary chairman Ana Pettus and co-chairs Mark Stafford and John Ahrens invited the best of Big D for a parade of custom denim jackets following a live and silent auction. The fabulous fête began with a standing ovation for Dallas’ own Jan Strimple followed by the exuberant live show created by Brian Brothers of Planet Productions and Rhonda Sargent Chambers. Guests bid on over 100 jackets transformed into works of art by celebrated designers and local artists. The live auction package sold for $20,000, including tea and shopping at Carolina Herrera, Barneys gift certificate and botox. Over $650,000  from the event benefited DIFFA Dallas and their efforts to raise funds for people living with or impacted by HIV and AIDS.b_entertained_large1
