Oscar-Worthy: Brilliant’s Best- & Worst-Dressed List

Here at Brilliant, the actual statues awarded during the Oscars are rivaled only by the winning (and losing) fashions of the evening. While I took turns clapping and gasping at the red carpet looks, I definitely noticed some patterns that went over well. Neutrals, light and bright incarnations of peach and pinks, and asymmetrical straps are among the trends we’ve seen flooding the runways, and last night they gorgeously ruled the awards ceremony, as well.

WORST-DRESSED

It seems many of the ladies in red should have blended into the red carpet a little more as their less than favorable frocks stuck out like sore thumbs. Also, I know the embellishment trend has been big this season, but sometimes stars forget the importance of editing. As I learned as a young girl, you just can’t embellish the truth.

Pictured l-r: Amanda Seyfried in Valentino, Heidi Klum in RM by Roland Mouret, Amy Adams in Carolina Herrera, Miley Cyrus in Zuhair Murad, Beyonce Knowles in House of Dereon, and Marion Cotillard in Christian Dior Couture
